Nothing Says Autumn Like Burning a Good Fall Candle…

As we now have approached the fall season, also my most favorite time of year, we go gaga for delicious fall scented candles, scent plugs, wallflowers, room sprays (which cannot be shipped abroad due to customs) and candles. There are many stores to choose from to shop for your favorite autumn goods. I highly recommend if you haven’t shopped a lot to visit my 10 favorite  stores to shop for wax, accessories, and beautiful home decor. These often have online sales and specials. I feel that these are rated well and you get the most for your money. Always look to see if an online store is offering coupons online. We cannot and will not accept these.

Lets talk fall scents…so many to choose from, so many to buy! Noting says a crisp fall day for me like Cozy Sweater by Yankee Candle. This is now rare and not at all easy to find so yes, I have hoarded a few myself. I recommend anything pumpkin scented. Village Candle offers a good one called Pumpkin Bread. One word to describe this,..DELICIOUS! Goose Creek offers my all time favorite Carrot Cake, Burlwood & Oak, Sugared Cinnamon Donut, and a new favorite, Staying Home. I happen to like this for the scents and the cat on the jar photo. So cute! Kringle, my all time favorite is Brandied Pumpkin and pumpkin Sage. Bath & Body Works has a variety of 3 wick candles that are out of this world! Sweet cinnamon pumpkin, pumpkin pecan waffles, sea salt and maple popcorn, and a new one that is a must try if you enjoy cinnamon…cinnamon pretzel twist!

Did you know that there are a few  companies that really stands behind their products? This means that if you do not like them…take them back. One that really comes to mind is Yankee Candle offers a jar for a jar. Bath & Body says you should be happy guaranteed. How many candle companies really back their product and out their money where their mouth is?

Lets talk about the trip to the candle store for those of you who shop. Most of us go to a candle shop or a retail store looking for a product in particular. Often we aren’t sure where it is located. What do you do? You look for someone whose advice will direct you to making the best choice. I don’t know about you but I am most grateful for a second opinion.

How do you treat the help? Lets face it, often we go into a candle shop and are approached by a sales person who is there to assist you and your needs as to why you are there. I have seen customers get super offended that these nice salespeople seem pushy. Listen, they aren’t. They are doing their job. They get paid to service you and I truly feel that they do it well. I recommend Yankee Candle very high when it comes to accompanying a customers needs, so next time you walk into a store and growl at these salespeople or treat them like they are below you, and some of you certainly might,  remember that this is their job and if you don’t want to be approached, stay home and shop online because your attitude is insulting and disheartening to a store that is there to represent a good product line.

How Well Do you Trust Your Personal Shopper?

I’ve been a business owner shipping to customers for almost 10 years from a variety of businesses that I have obtained and my goal was then, and always is to be professional and to handle my businesses in a very professional manner from start to finish…but guess what? Not everyone thinks like I do, and not everyone is quite as honest as I am. My grandmother used to alway tell me “Shelly, you get what you pay for, so if it seems too good to be true, it probably is!” Beware of the not-so-trustworthy personal shoppers that you employee.

As a personal shopper at Savin Exporting, I find myself in friendships with most all of my clients. Why? Because I am a very personable woman that believes that good things come to those who wait and I prefer helping people the good old fashion honest way rather than ripping them off which is what some folks will do to you unfortunately. There are facts and fictions to beware of:

Fiction: You find a super low cost seller with little experience that will promise you the moon making your costs seem too hard to pass by and you bite on this like a shark. Then you will succumb to a more real reality. Either the products are fake or the products arrive to you not shipped correctly which will cause damage, breakage or other miscellaneous catastrophies. Lastly you will find a seller that is impossible to get a hold of or then becomes what we lie to call ‘a mole’ which means that there is virtually never any follow up if an issues arises.

At the end of the day, if your order arrives at your door in a thousand pieces (and it shouldn’t) but if it does, we work diligently to cover the cost and send out new items providing we have photos to supply our insurance company with.

In closing, Pleaseeeee…if you are searching for a good personal shopper, get recommendations and references from a handful of people that have used this personal shopper in the past to make certain that you get what you are paying for. Whether you seek candles or caviar, do your homework.
